Peruvian Daisies are a variety of Gazanias.
A native of tropical climates, the gazania is a daisy-like member of the Asteraceae family of flowers and was originally found in Southern Africa. Popular in the western and southern United States because they are drought-tolerant and easy to grow, gazanias give a vibrant contrast when planted amidst daisies and other white flowers in the garden.
Named in honor of Theodore Gaza, who was responsible for the first Latin translation of the botanical works of Theophrastus, the gazania flower was first described in 1791 by the German botanist Joseph Gaertner
We enjoy traveling a great deal and always have a camera or two where ever we may wander. At home Shirley enjoys her garden, cooking and turning photographs into art. Steve is an avid woodworker and had furnished our home with his beautiful works.
